JAW CRUSHERS: A compression type crusher used for initial crushing of larger rock.
CONE CRUSHERS: A compression type crusher used for secondary or tertiary crushing of rock.
IMPACTORS: Horizontal impactors are typically a primary and sometimes secondary crusher, and vertical shaft impactors are used for making sand and other finer materials. Impactors use impact and
shear to reduce rock. Hammermills are another form of impactor.
ROLL CRUSHERS: Produce a narrower band of gradation, fewer fines, and work well with non-abrasive materials such as limestone.
ROD AND BALL MILLS: Use impact, attrition, and compression to reduce rock into fine particles, primarily in mineral ore processing.
